Regarding The Sun's "Fly the Union Flag" campaign, do you:?

a) See it as an attempt by the political ideologists at News Corp, owner of The Sun, to move its readers to fanatical patriotism, allowing them in the future to call anyone who disagrees with them unpatriotic or anti-British?





b) See it as an attempt by the editors of The Sun to unite Britain in sending a message to extremists that the nation will not be beaten?





c) Have any other explanation?

Regarding The Sun's "Fly the Union Flag" campaign, do you:?
its a ridiculous attempt to breed hatred in neighbourhoods..and at the end of the day - most of us just want to live peacefully..wherever we live.





its a stupid campaign to fly a Union Jack from your house..but i expect nothing less of the Sun newspaper to be honest!!

Reply:A little bit of point B, but also my point C would be that there is nothing wrong with patriotism, pride in your country, its culture, history, inventions, achievements etc, so long as its not exclusive, all Britons should feel proud to be British, and respect and love the country they live in, whatever their ethnicity (and im part Assyrian, and feel very patriotic toward Britain)...patriotism, is not racism, there is a huge gap between the two, its a shame we dont realise this in Britain. Im always puzzled by the post colonial guilt trip thing, and the fear and embarrassment at expressing pride in your country...my people dont have our ow country anymore, what id give...anyway!

We have to restore pride in being British and send a tough message to those radical Muslims who keep proposing that we incorporate Sharia law into our way of life. Reply:News Corporation is an international organisation and has only one reason for being - to maximise profits. Patriotism does not enter into the equation. To achieve maximum profits they will publish or broadcast anything, even if it leads ultimately to social division and civil unrest.

Reply:I think it's right that we should fly the Union Flag even though I am Scottish I am proud to be British and I am patriotic to this country and I have the Union Jack in my window aswell as the Saltire if people don't like it then stuff em. Yes I think it sending a message to the Muslim extremists you can bomb us you can try and beat but you will never destroy us because we won't let you!!! I think we should fly the flag more often to show our patriotism. I was listening to the radio the other and did you know that public buildings like town halls etc can only fly the flag on a certain amount of day (18 days a year) I think they should fly the flag more often. So yes get the Union Jack out and show with pride.
Reply:I'm a Scot, and I found out that it is illegal to fly the Saltire above any building, public or private, without the permit ion of the executive, if you are reported you have 24 hrs to remove it or be fined £200. You may fly the flag in your garden or part of your property but it takes only 1 of your streets residents to object and you must remove it [ and that's in my own country ]
