Any other girl sick with seventeen mag?

They barely ever put any dark-skinned girl on the cover. There were like three in about six years. They never even put anyone worthy of being a role-model either. Why did they have Paris Hilton, Kristin C and Lauren C. from Laguna Beach? None of them are talented or have any depth or anything teen girls should look up to. Some women they put on their covers are fin (like Pink or Beyonce) but I think they are kind of prejudice. Have you seen a curvy or overweight girl on the cover? It's like the editors think only light skinned girls who are a size 0 are automatically a role model.

yea I'm getting kind of tired with it mostly because i think it makes people kind of superficial. I wish they had more stories about stuff that actually matters like the war and global warming. I have to admit though i liked all the makeup and hair stuff for a while (i still like it but not as much), but now that im getting older i see how that sort of thing doesn't actually matter one bit in the world! Why not teach us young people about stuff that does matter!?
Reply:I mostly agree with everything you say about the magazine covers, and it was horrible how they put Ashlee Simpson on the cover. She is a teeny bopper, and a horrible role model. Some of the articles in the magazine are good, like the Real Life stories and Sex-Ed. They are really informative to teen girls. Also, though, some of the articles are just terrible. Especially the fashion ones lately. They encourage girls to follow what's "in style," not just to be themselves. I think Seventeen needs to pick better role models to put on the cover, and start thinking of new ideas for better articles. Also, they should start recognizing girls who aren't a perfect size 00.

Reply:I love seventeen. Personally, I don't really ever read the article about the covergirl unless its someone I really like. I do agree with you though that they should start putting more dark skinned girls on the cover. Blond white girls are not the only type of beauty out there.
