What are my chances of getting into a nice, provate school?

I have a 3.0514 GPA based on a 4.0 scale. I'm in the top third of my class of 132 students and also a Junior in High School. I'm guaranteed to get good teacher recommendations if I ever needed them. My GPA is lower because of three classes that I had some teacher-student conflicts. But other then those three [which were 70, 68 and a 78] all of my grades were as follows...

[68], [70], [78], 81, 82, 83, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, 90, 90, 90, 94, 95, 96, and 97. All of which are academic classes. I'm not apart of any organizations outside of school. In school, however, I'm an editor of my High School's Newspaper, The Eagle, and an editor of our Yearbook. I'm an honor student and really good at French [currently I have a 102% in my French II class]. I'm very Polish [about 65%] and French, and I'm pursuing both languages [although right now I'm only fluent in one: English].

I have a job at a C.P.A.'s office where I'm pretty much the secretary for "tax season". So what do you guys think?

What are my chances of getting into a nice, provate school?
I think considering all things you have a very good chance. You may want to work though on your skills on working with others. If you have issues where you can't work well with others like certain teachers and your grades reflect that then that doesn't sound like that teacher is being fair to grade you specifically on your work and participation and whatever other reasonable factors. Might want to work on those subjects with a bit more focus where you didn't score as high and sounds like you'll do even better.
Reply:what's you're ACT/SAT scores...those are even more important than you're GPA, which i need to mention is icky, but DON'T let it drop lower than a 3.0. You realize that you "teacher/student" conflicts won't matter to college admissions, they won't ask you WHY you have bad grades, they see the facts. if you have a 3.0, you have a 3.0, no excuses.

editors huh? very good

to sum it all up,

-3.05 GPA

- Newspaper editor, yearbook editor, The Eagle (no idea what that is...)

-top 1/3 of 132 (so around 39-41?)

private....

honestly without you're ACT/SAT score i can't give you a good estimate butt if you REALLY need one

myb 65%?

private colleges REALLY want their GPAs to be 3.5 and above.....

but if you make up for that on your ACT/SAT score (25 and up) than you'll immediatly bump you chances up 15-30%

goodluck =]
