Vista desktop persisting problem?

My desktop was lack and had no task bar ecept for the documents pane open. i could access everything from te explore pane but could not get the desktop. then i checked out in net and solution was: task manager-%26gt; end process-%26gt;explore.exe. then new process-%26gt;expore.exe. it worked. but this is not a permanent solution. whenever i restart i've to do the same thing. there was another solution to edit shell content of c:\windows\regedit. while trying this, error msg pops up saying that "registry editor has been disabled by your editor". am using admin logn only and tried to change permission settings etc. but every damn thing is disabled. can somebdy tell me what i'e to do now...

Vista desktop persisting problem?
start%26gt;run and cut and paste everything below..in vista u may need to use start%26gt;search%26gt;run as admin

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentV... /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Reply:to access the registry, you must run it as the administrator. If you turn off your UAC (User Account Control) you do not need to do that.

Add me on yahoo messenger. halo56111 I'll help you with your problem.
Reply:you do realise that you should never touch the registry unless u have advanced computer knowledge!!! you have only yourself to blame if it stops working altogether
