Quotes From the Father of Our Country, was he a religious Nut-Case?

Nellie Washington wrote: It would be the greatest heresy to doubt his firm belief in Christianity. Washinton wrote: You do well to wish to learn our arts and our ways of life and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ.Source: The writings of George Washinton Jared Sparks editor :Boston Ferdinand Andrews, Publisher 1838 Vol.X11 pp 399-411 Washinton also said:

All students would learn in American schools "Above all" was the religion of Jesus Christ. Source: The Religious opinions of Washinton E.C. M'Guire, New York Harper %26amp; Brothers 1836. Washinton personal motto: Deeds, not words: and FOR God and my Country, Source Nellie Custin-Lewis/his daughter.

Was Washinton just a Religious Nut-case?

Quotes From the Father of Our Country, was he a religious Nut-Case?
There are no Atheists in fox-holes.
Reply:Perhaps he was a religious nut case, most scholars would find otherwise, but what would that prove even if he were. A lot of Christian fundamentalists would like to re-write history to make their case that the U.S. should be a Christian nation, rather than a secular one as it is today. Is that your intent? Since Washington never wrote about being a Christian, and never took communion in the church that he attended, he was certainly not outspoken about his religious beliefs. Also, for at least a portion of his life he was a Deist like Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson said, "Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man." I could not agree more.

Indaindude, your lies get more amusing everyday!

P. S. Bite me. I'll stop using quotes when you stop using quotes. Just think of old Thomas Jefferson next time you get handed a nickle. xD

PPS. The subject is Washington and his spirituality, since like Jefferson, Washington was a Diest and, like Jefferson, he is one of the "Founding Fathers" it is entirely relavant to bring this up.
Reply:When you consider the fact that we had just left the oppression of a state mandated Church it is understandable why he felt that way.

George Washington was a devout Christian.

And to all those out there confused about Masonry, He, George Washington was a Mason, in fact the first Grand Master of Masons in America.
