Help using .Key files.?

I have a .key file which will activate a license for the software i have. And am not sure how to use it.





This is what im trying to do:





Copy and paste .key file into the directory of my product.


Open .ky file and click yes, then an error comes up:





Cannot import C:/Program files/blah!!!../blah.key . The key is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.








So what does that mean.. and ive tried doing this in normal mode and safe mode and same thing happens..





How are you meant to use .ky files and get them to work correctly?
